Citroën is reavealing the first details of the second model of its’ distinctively-styled DS line DS: the DS4. According to the French brand the “DS4 brings an alluring mixture of premium design codes and a bold approach to automotive styling, with an emphasis on driving pleasure and advanced vehicle architecture.” The official presentation of Citroën’s new model will take place at the Paris Motor Show.
With 4.27m long, 1.81m width and 1.53m of height the DS4 is a combination of sophistication and refinement with a dynamic coupe-like design. Developed to convey a prestigious presence both inside and out, the interior of the DS4 is filled with meticulous detailing from carefully applied chrome touches to premium cabin materials. The large panoramic windscreen offers more visibility and an environment that is bright and welcoming.
The DS4 is able to combine the coupe style with the 2+2 door practicality by offering three full-sized rear seats. They are accessed by rear doors which have hidden handles that are integrated into the body’s lines.
Set to go on sale in 2011 the DS4 will be available with an engine lineup consisting in two HDi diesels and three petrol powerplants. The two HDi diesels, the HDi 110 (also available as an e-HDi version) and the HDi 160, feature Citroën’s Diesel Particulate Filter System. The VTi 120, THP 155 and the new THP 200 are the petrol engines that were co-developed with BMW.
Based on a 1.6-litre engine, the new THP 200 offers flexible power delivery and performance thanks to its 147 kW of power output and torque of 275 Nm at 1700 rpm. The THP 200 has CO2 emissions of just 149 g/km.
The world premiere of the new DS-line model will take place at the Paris Motor Show between the 2nd and 17th of October.
