Felipe Massa Using Different Chassis in Malaysian Grand Prix

Ferrari is looking to improve its performance at the Malaysian Grand Prix compared to the last several years. It scored no points in 2009; managed 7th place in 2010 and a best of 5th place last year.

Despite the car being identical to the one he raced in Australia, Felipe Massa will try a different chassis in Malaysia. He raced in chassis #293 in Australia and will give #294 a chance in Malaysia.

Ferrari says that the decision was made, "to clear up any doubts about the unusual performance of his car during the weekend at Albert Park."

Massa has had far less success in Malaysia. He has never finished better than fifth in his nine races there.

Massa has turned around negative momentum in the past. In 2008, he finished second in the drivers' championship despite not finishing the first two races.

Fernando Alonso was relatively successful in Malaysia in his pre-Ferrari days. He managed two wins, four podiums and seven top 10s.
