Technical Boss Patrick Fry is one of the hardest men to please in motorsports. Despite Fernando Alonso winning three races this season, more than any other, and having a 40-point championship lead, Fry still says that there is a long way to go in the car's development. He also says that the rain at the Malaysian and German Grand Prixs had a lot to do with Alonso winning. Alonso's third win at the European Grand Prix came in the dry.

"Obviously, if it had been a completely dry race in Malaysia, it would have been a different story. I don't think we can hide behind the fact that the weather has helped us out," said Fry.

Fry said that Ferrari is working on wind tunnel development of pieces for Spa and Singapore during the month off. Then the entire team will get two weeks off during the last two weeks of the month.

“We have a few interesting developments that we will introduce at Spa, a track which, from an aerodynamic downforce point of view, is quite special, as indeed is Monza. In fact, we will also have an aerodynamic and engine package specifically suited to the Italian track. Therefore a lot of work has been done, but there is still also a lot to do: we must continue to keep up the pressure to a high level," said Fry.

However, Fry still believes that the car needs work for dry conditions, but the team has improved the car by about 1.5 seconds this season.

"In my opinion, we have overtaken a large part of the other teams in terms of development over the season: we staged a good recovery, but there is still a long way to go," said Fry.
