rarest race cars crossed the block at R&M Auctions sale in Monaco. A Ferrari 625 TRC SpyderFerrari 625 TRC SpiderItaly, 1956 > 195638 photos
powered by a 3.0l V12 was auctioned for €5.04m ($6.4m at current exchange rates). R&M had estimated the car would sell for between €3m-€3.7m.
Only two 625 TRC race cars were made, and both were sold in 1957. The car was an evolution of the iconic 500 TR TestarossaFerrari 500 TestarossaItaly, 1955 > 19551 photo
. This car comes fitted with a 3.0l V12 with 320hp, but it also comes with its original Lampredi 2.5l inline-four engine with 225hp, if the buyer wants to be more authentic. The car was raced by privateer Johnny von Neumann in 1957 and 1958 winning three times and taking second or third in four races.
