Fiat has already had a critical failure with the 500L, which has generally been seen as a really ugly car. However, it does not look like that it keep them from trying more 500 derivatives in the future. Rumors are circulating that Fiat is planning a 500X crossover SUV. Even weirder this car would be branded as a Jeep in the US.
The 500X would use the same platform as the 500L and Panda with a 4.2m wheelbase. It would be the fourth variation on the 500, which includes the standard car, convertible and 500L. The Fiat version will be built in Turin, Italy, and the Jeep version would likely be built in Toluca, Mexico. It will likely use the 900cc Twinair engine and 1.4l turbo engine.
The images in the gallery show the 500L, which has the platform for the 500X.
