has unveiled at the Istanbul Motor Show the project of a new model that will hit the market in November in 40 countries. The AegeaAegea ProjectFiat Aegea ProjectItaly, 2015 > 2015 sedan won't have this name when it comes out but it will give birth to a new model range.

The four-door model started to be developed by Fiat as a saloon, however from the Aegea there will be two more bodystyles hitting the market, hatchback and estate versions. These extra two variants will be launched later this year and should hit the market in 2016.

Although it's being unveiled as Aegea, the model name won't be this one. The official name of the new model will be unveiled closer to the launch date.

With capacity for five passengers, the Aegea measures 4.5m in length, and is 178cm wide and 148cm high. Boot capacity is fixed at 510 litres.

Fiat has included on the new model its Uconnect system, with a five-inch colour touch screen, Bluetooth, USB and Aux inputs and steering wheel controls as standard. TomTom satellite navigation system and a rear parking camera will also be available as an optional.

The new model will be built at Fiat’s plant in Bursa, in Turkey and that was why the Aegea was unveiled at the Istanbul Motor Show. It will be built alongside the LineaLineaFiat LineaItaly, 2007 > present6 versions

Diesel engines are particularly fuel-efficient, offering average consumptions below 4 litres per 100 km.
