Fiat is giving its new Qubo Trekking its debut in Frankfurt. The top of the range Qubo ‘Trekking’ is projected to represent more than 10% of the Qubo range.
Fiat describe the Qubo as its “free space car”, specialising in providing up to 16 different seat combinations, creating a flexible space. Depending on the use of its space the Qubo has anywhere between 330 litres of storage capacity and 2500 litres.
It will come with a 75 bhp and a 95 bhp version of Fiats 1.3 Multijet diesel engine attached to a 5 speed gearbox. It also gets Fiats version of the now compulsory Start&Stop system which leads to emissions of 107 g/km.
The Qubo Trekking is fitted with a high tech traction control system called Traction+. Fiat claims that it improves traction over slippery terrain while costing far less than a mechanical four wheel drive system.
Other features that set the Qubo Trekking apart from its less expensive siblings include burnished headlights, two colour black/aluminium side mouldings and a new protective shield for the rear bumper.
