Force India Reveals VJM07, First F1 Reveal of 2014

India is the first team this season to reveal its 2014 car. Force India has revealed a single image of the VJM07Force India VJM07India, 2014 > 2014, and it will officially be presented at next week’s Jerez test.

The VJM07 has a new livery that combines saffron orange, white, green and black. The team has signed Mexican telecommunications company Claro as a sponsor as part of its deal with new driver Sergio Perez. It also signed a multi-year deal with Mexican lubricant oil company Roshfrans. The nose wears sponsorship from Astana, a foundation that promotes sports in Astana, Kazakhstan.

“The VJM07 looks stunning and the new livery reflects the way Sahara Force India is evolving,” said team owner Vijay Mallya. “I’ve always believed our cars have been the most eye-catching, but adding black as a main color gives us a fierce new look.”

The team hopes that 2014 will be its strongest ever. The team says that the biggest challenge was incorporating the cooling for the new power unit into the car. Teams have to balance creating a high grip car with the cooling for the new power units.

“Almost every single part is a new design, from the front wing right back to the diffuser,” said Andrew Green, technical director.

The team rose one position in the World Constructors’ Championship between 2012 and 2013 to sixth place.
