Ford celebrate 100 years in Britain

Five of Ford’s most memorable vehicles to feature on film and television have been gathered at Elstree studios on Hertfordshire. The cars have been brought to London to celebrate 100 years of Ford in Britain.

They include the Ford Anglia 105E from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, the pink FAB1 from Thunderbirds, James Bond’s Ford Mondeo, a Ford Granada as seen in The Sweeney and Dr Who’s yellow Edwardian vintage car.

The cars have been gathered from a number of sources. John Colyer supplied the Ford Anglia after his involvement in the Harry Potter film while the Mondeo came straight out of the National Motor Museam in Beaulieu . Meanwhile, the yellow Edwardian vintage car attends numerous Dr Who conventions and is also used for weddings.

The summer’s Ford Centenary Tour covered a distance of 2,200 miles across Britain, from Inverness to Southampton and Cardiff to London.
