to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the original car. The Cortina model was an important and successful model for Ford of Europe, especially in the UK. 

The design was penned by Ford Europe's design manager Paul Wraith. Auto Express told him to design a car that would be modern and receive a five-star Euro NCAP score, but it still had to evoke the classic Cortina. The images in the gallery show what he came up with.
