Ford Fiesta ST Production Brisk Enough to Add Extra Production

is having quite the success with the introduction of the Fiesta ST. It has received twice as many orders as it expected in the first six months, and the UK has orders for roughly 60% of them. To cope, production is being increased by 15% or 750 units, which should bring total first year production to around 5,750 cars. 

“The customer and media reaction to the Fiesta ST has been extraordinary – it’s really become an instant classic and orders have been extremely strong. We are doing what we can to increase production and try to meet demand," said Roelant de Waard, Ford Europe head of sales and marketing.

The most popular colors are Pearlescent Molten Orange and Spirit Blue Metallic with 45% of orders taking them. 

Ford also recently added the new Mountune engine upgrade for UK buyers. It increases power by 32hp and 22lb-ft of torque for £599.

The base Fiesta ST produces 180hp and 214lb-ft of torque with overboost from a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine.
