Ford Impressed With 3000 Orders for Fiesta ST

says that it has received 3,000 orders and counting for the Fiesta ST and deliveries only began in March. According to Ford, half of the sales so far have gone to the UK, and Germany and Switzerland are the next most popular countries for orders. Spirit Blue has been the most popular color with 27% of orders.

The 180hp Fiesta ST scoots to 100km/h in 6.9 seconds with a top speed of 220km/h and has 20% fuel economy than the previous generationFord Fiesta STUnited Kingdom, 2005 > present2 photos
. It emits 138g/km of CO2.

Power comes from a 1.6-liter EcoBoost turbocharged engine and retuned suspension, steering, brakes and a torque-vectoring differential. 

“The word of mouth on Fiesta ST has been phenomenal and it’s clear we have something special on our hands. We are really proud of our product development team for delivering a car that the top auto critics across Europe say not only is astonishingly good but also very affordable," said Roelant de Waard, vice president of marketing for Ford of Europe.

The Fiesta ST also gets a honeycomb grill, rear diffuser and ST body kit. 

Ford says that 60% of buyers have opted for upgraded leather interior, which also adds carbon fiber dashboard trim, aluminum pedal covers and Recaro seats. Ninety percent of buyers have opted for gray 17in wheels with red brake calipers.

It appears that European buyers find the lower price and better fuel economy of the Fiesta ST incredibly attractive compared to the faster, bigger Focus STFord Focus ST EcoBoostUnited Kingdom, 2012 > present9 photos
. In the same period of the year, Ford has sold 2,100 Focus STs in Europe, compared to the 3,000 Fiesta STs.
