will go on sale on the car’s 50th birthday on April 17, 2014, but it will be publicly revealed in December. Ford will also give a small cadre of press a sneak preview of the car next week in Dearborn, Michigan.
The Mustang is entering its sixth generation with the 2015 model, and the last complete revision was in 2005. Ford has promised a smaller size and more efficient engines for the new generation, and it will be sold from the factory in Europe for the first time in decades.
We also know that the Mustang will remain rear-wheel drive and keep the current model’s 107in (2,718mm) wheelbase but with an all-net platform that is significantly lighter. V8 engines will still be available, but the base V6 will likely be replaced by a four-cylinder EcoBoost turbocharged engine.
The styling is rumored to be retro-inspired like the previous gen but a bit more modern than before.
Hopefully, Ford will release the first images of the car next week.
