Taxi in the United States, and now it is beginning to offer it worldwide to taxi drivers in London and Hong Kong.

“Ford Transit Connect Taxi has proven itself in taxi fleets across the U.S. Now, we are building on that success, offering the vehicle for sale in even more markets, including global cities like Hong Kong,” said Raj Nair, group vice president of Ford global product development.

The Hong Kong model comes with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with liquefied petroleum gas fuel system and a six-speed automatic transmission. Ford says that it expects that the Transit Connect Taxi will get best-in-class highway fuel economy.

Ford just upgraded the Transit Connect Taxi with a lower height, better headroom and interior hood release. It offers enough room for five people and 60.5 cubic feet (1,713 liters) of cargo space. An optional wheelchair accessibility system is also available.
