Former Volvo CEO Stefan Jacoby to Head GM International Operations

CEO Stefan Jacoby as the head of International Operations. His job will be to lead GM's business in Africa, Asia, Europe and the Middle East. Tim Lee, the former head of GM International Operations, will become Chairman of GM China and run the company's 12 Chinese joint ventures and 55,000 employees. 

“Stefan is a great addition to an already strong team. We expect him to continue building on his record of delivering results in markets around the world," said GM Chairman and CEO Dan Akerson.

Jacoby will take over the new job on August 5. 

“I’m excited to join a company that’s delivering beautiful, high-quality and fascinating vehicles and is committed to improving the total customer experience. The GM team has plans to win in every market, and I’m eager to contribute," said Jacoby.

Jacoby has had leading roles at automakers for over the last decade. He was the CEO of Motors Europe, president of VolkswagenVolkswagenVolkswagenGermany, 1938 > present98 models
