At this year’s Golf GTI-Meet at Wörthersee 2010 Volkswagen will be presenting the GTI adidas, a customized version of the GTI, and the Golf GTI Excessive, a concept car implemented in a stylistically refined motorsport look. Alongside these two vehicles the first generation Golf GTI (1976) and the Golf Citi Mk1 will also be at the VW stand. The German brand will be joining them under the motto: GTI history meets GTI present and future.
Set to be launched on June the Golf GTI adidas is gathering three of the most recognized German badges: Volkswagen’s, GTI’s and adidas’. This vehicle will combine them into a single product. Volkswagen is expecting this version to get very quickly into collector status thanks to the mixture between the GTI technology and the styling from adidas.
The new Golf GTI adidas will be launched with a wide-range of customised exterior and interior features which include newly designed 18-inch "Serron" alloy wheels and a specially developed sport seat design. Bi-xenon headlights and LED rear lights will be offered standardly.
Volkswagen has already used its fans to the presentation of new concepts at the GTI-Meet at Wörthersee. Keeping the tradition the German brand is presenting the Golf GTI Excessive, which according to VW illustrates the design potential of the Golf GTI.
The most important features of this concept are the add-on parts styled in high-gloss black piano paint, focusing on extreme precision in the definition of shapes, radii and straight lines, as though cut with a razor blade. Add-ons around the front spoiler, side sills and rear diffuser are visually styled as so-called splitters and are aerodynamically enhanced diverting elements that derived from motorsports. The Golf GTI Excessive is the first production model fitted with splitters with such high-end precision.
