SLS AMG: Gullwing

The SLS AMG, also known as Gullwing, has won the 2010 “iF product design award”. This is one of the world’s most important design awards and has been presented since 1953. The Gullwing was chosen by a 24-member jury and was victorious in the “Transportation Design” category.

The award ceremony will be held in Hannover on March the 2nd 2010, the first day of the CeBIT fair. The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG will then be put on display until August 2010 as part of a design exhibition that is expected to receive 250.000 visitors from all-around the world.

The SLS AMG is a reinterpretation of the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL lines. With the charisma coming from the swing-wing doors, the Gullwing is a reflection of the contemporary sports car engineering philosophy.

As a winner of the iF product design award the SLS AMG will be able to use the sought-after iF label for the entire lifecycle of the product.
