Hyundai Introduces Two New Engines: 202hp Turbo for Performance and 150hp Diesel for Efficiency

Hyundai introduced two new engines at its Powertrain Conference on October 20, 2011.

The first was a turbocharged version of its 1.6 liter direct-injected engine producing 202hp and 264Nm of torque. Autoblog is reporting that this engine could find its way into Veloster for a future higher performance model. The engine also meets California's ULEV-2 standard and the Euro 5 standard.

The other engine that it showed was a 2.0 liter diesel making 150hp that meets the Euro 6 emission standard. It produces 150hp and 382Nm of torque.

These engines will likely be introduced in 2012 into Hyundai models.
