Infiniti Breaks Ground on UK Plant to Build Q30

The latest step in being more global is breaking ground at Nissan’s Sunderland factory for a £250 million upgrade to create 1,000 jobs to build the Infiniti Q30Infiniti Q30Japan, 2014 > present, which will go on sale in 2015.

“Securing the Infiniti Q30 for production at Sunderland was a tremendous achievement by the workforce and reflects the quality levels which they have reached,” said Trevor Mann, Infiniti UK boss.

The factory upgrade includes a new body assembly line and final assembly line that will cover 25,000 square meters.

The Q30 is Infiniti’s entry into the premium compact market. It uses the same platform as Mercedes’ compact models, like the CLA-ClassMercedes-Benz CLA-Class Gen.1Germany, 2013 > present63 versions
