in the next few weeks as its main luxury sedan, and it has just announced that it has a new premium hatchback concept for the Frankfurt Motor Show called the Q30Q30Infiniti Q30Japan, 2014 > present

The Q30 is meant as Infiniti's attempt to appeal to premium customers with a compact hatchback. The design is meant to evoke the look of hunting cats like a cheetah. The single image that Infiniti released shows a hatchback with a hood that blends directly into the windshield and flows over the rear in a continuous arc. There is a style line that creases from the headlights to the rear fenders, and a second line that goes from the front wheel well to the rear fender.

"This Infiniti Q30 Concept is a prelude to the product portfolio expansion which underpins our aggressive global growth strategy. In our quest to appeal to the modern, young-minded premium customer, the Infiniti Q30 Concept has a distinctive style and reaches new levels of product quality," said Johan de Nysschen, President of Infiniti.

Infiniti is hinting that the Q30 will enter production. It says that the car will be the first that Sebastian Vettel will influence from the beginning in his role as Infiniti Director of Performance.
