at the New York Auto Show and initially planned to build 30 cars only for North America. It is beginning to change its mind after seeing demand for the limited edition car in Europe. It may build an extra run of GTs to satisfy European demand. 

“It is possible the production run will reach 50. The initial cap was set to define the business case but, thankfully, there is room for more," said Jaguar brand director Adrian Hallmark.

The XKR-S GT uses the same 542hp 5.0-liter V8 in the XKR-S but gets new aerodynamic aids, carbon fiber body parts and major upgrades to the suspension and brakes. Jaguar claims that it will lap the Nordschleife in under 7:40, on par with a Ferrari 458Ferrari 458 ItaliaItaly, 2009 > present676 photos

Jaguar admits that power could have been increased further, but it wanted to focus on the handling for the GT.

It also says that the GT is just the beginning for its plans. It will incorporate the changes to the GT into future cars.
