a major upgrade for the 2014 model year with new engine options and an intelligent all-wheel drive system. It is also adding a more spacious long wheelbase version.

The XJ will not be available with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, diesel and supercharged petrol 3.0-liter V6 and four tunes of the 5.0-liter V8, one normally aspirated and three supercharged versions. All engines will now be available with stop/start and Jaguar’s eight-speed automatic.

The new 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder has 240ps (238hp) and 340Nm (251lb-ft). The new 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V8 has 385ps (380hp) and 515Nm (380lb-ft).

The intelligent all-wheel drive system is only available with the 3.0-liter supercharged petrol engine for now. The system constantly watches grip levels and when it notices wheels slipping, it begins to send power to the front wheels. Otherwise, the system provides 100% of the power to the rear wheels to improve fuel economy.

The Rear Seat Entertainment package gets two high resolution touchscreens and upgraded sound system.

All models are also available with, new exterior colors, new interior trims and new wheel designs.

The long wheelbase XJ gets a new rear cabin with airline-style reclining seats with massage function, more headroom, foldout tables and a more comfortable rear suspension.
