Japanese Honda Ad Shows Brand Timeline in Its Cars and Bikes

Honda is against the ropes, and it knows it. It has been said that with the weak yen and high sales volume in North America that Honda is an American car company headquartered in Tokyo. If you wonder why the next NSXNSX ConceptAcura NSX ConceptJapan, 2012 > present19 photos
is being built in Ohio, it is because Honda knows most of them will be sold in North America and building it in the US keeps the final price down.

Honda's latest ad in Japan is titled 'We Won't be Beaten," and it gives the brand's timeline by showing its important vehicles one after another. The ad starts with Sochiro Honda's original clip-on bicycle engine, then transitions to Honda's first racing motorcycle and Formula 1 car. The ad pans across important Honda models like the AccordAccordHonda AccordJapan, 1976 > present9 series

The Youtube video below is subtitled for the Japanese speech. The announcer starts out talking about the power of dreams and effort but quickly says that known of that matters. Most of the time justice does not win and hard work is not rewarded, and it ends with, "Let's Surpass Yesterday's Honda."

Honda is not safe yet. Its new CivicCivic Gen.9Honda Civic Gen.9Japan, 2011 > present85 versions

is considered terrible in the automotive press. The CRZCR-Z Base 6MHonda CR-Z Base 6MJapan, 2011 > present2 photos
is a disappointment. The new Accord that it showed in Detroit was uninspiring, and the next CrosstourAccord Crosstour EX 2WD AutomaticHonda Accord Crosstour EX...Japan, 2011 > present9 photos

seems solidly okay; the RLXRLX ConceptAcura RLX ConceptJapan, 2013 > present4 photos
could be interesting, and the NSX might be the real winner.

Honda needs to get back to its roots with fun, economical engines. Face it, the Civic has never been a fantastic looking car, but people bought them because they were inexpensive but better than the rivals. When was the last time you could say that about a Honda?

Let's hope that the future of Honda is as good as this ad.

They shouldn't make the NSX like that, it should be simple and more inexpensive. Like the older ones. Also, make another S2000 that's not a hybrid, and sell SPOON models over HERE!!!
