concept from 2011. It features design details like suicide doors and a clamshell rear hatch. The roof features a multi-paneled sky light. The crossover's design comes from the Kia Design Center America in Irvine, California.
Power comes from a 3.8-liter V6 hybrid with 400hp and 500lb-ft of torque with an eight-speed automatic and torque vectoring all-wheel drive. The electric motor is placed between the V6 and the transmission but can power the car by itself for up to 20 miles (32km).
"The Cross GT, with its raised stance and large cargo area, allows us to envision the GT in the form of a full-size luxury crossover," said Kia Lead Designer and President Peter Schreyer.
The Cross GT has a wheelbase 15.7in (399mm) longer than the Kia Sorento and is 8.4in (213mm) longer than the Sorento overall. It is also 4.9in (124mm) wider than the Sorento and 1.6in (41mm) shorter. The concept seats four people, but the production version would likely seat five.
