Kia K9 Flagship: The Brand's First Rear-Wheel Drive Sedan

Kia has unveiled its first ever, rear-wheel drive flagship sedan that it will launch in Korea this year with plans to launch in other markets like Europe and North America later. 

Kia wants the K9 to be a high-end luxury sedan. Other than its corporate Kia grill, the exterior design channels a variety of queues. The front and rear are both very reminiscent of the E65 7-series. While from the side, it bares a resemblance to the current Lexus LS. 

“K9 is our first rear-wheel drive large sedan, created without compromise in its design, driving performance and new technologies.  K9 sets a whole new level of standards and values in the large sedan segment, and its design will be another Kia demonstration of our brand’s power to surprise the world,” said Soon-Nam Lee, Director of the Overseas Marketing Group.

There has still been no announcement about the K9's engine options, but more details should be available soon.
