Kubica’s condition improving

Although he is still in intensive care, according to doctors Robert Kubica’s condition continues to improve after the injuries suffered in the rally crash. The Pole will only be able to think about rehabilitation after a final surgery on his elbow scheduled for Wednesday.

On Friday the Lotus Renault driver was once again submitted to an operation that lasted for more than nine hours in order to fix the numerous fractures he picked up during his accident on the Ronde di Andora rally. Kubica will remain in intensive care for as long as medical staff thinks is necessary for his best recovery.

Keeping him there also means that he won’t have to make another change of department before the final operation on Wednesday. On Monday morning a statement released by the doctors said: "Robert Kubica's general conditions are good.”

"Kubica will remain in intensive care for two more days in order to undergo a complete check up and to avoid another ward change before the final operation. The clinical picture is so satisfying that it allows for programming of the final surgery for Wednesday."
