It looks like one of the most lauded supercars of all time might be getting a successor. McLaren in an interview with Autocar discussed the car it is developing now, which it sees as the next-gen of the F1.
No official name has been announced yet, but McLaren did divulge some details about power and price. The planned engine is a 5.0 liter V8 producing 799bhp. That indicates that it will either be turbocharged or have a very, very high redline. With that type of power, performance to 100km/h should take a skant 2.8 seconds, and 161km/h should come in 5.5 seconds.
Understandably, with this type of performance price is going to be high. McLaren says it will cost around £1 million and will be limited to 500 units.
There are no pictures of the new car yet, but McLaren has already been testing the car in Spain and Germany. The interior will be minimal with very good all-around visibility.
