that it has been teasing for weeks. The new McLaren supercar is called the P1, and McLaren says that it is building the car with one goal in mind: “Be the best driver’s car in the world on road and track.”

“Our aim is not necessarily to be the fastest in absolute top speed but to be the quickest and most rewarding series production road car on a circuit,” says McLaren Automotive Managing Director Antony Sheriff.

McLaren says that the P1 shown at the Paris show will be a design study. The full production version will be shown next year.

“Twenty years ago we raised the supercar performance bar with the McLaren F1 and our goal with the McLaren P1 is to redefine it once again,” said McLaren Chairman Ron Dennis.
