Mercedes Decision Regarding Schumacher Coming within 6 Weeks

F1 Team says that it will have a decision regarding Michael Schumacher's place on the team within the next six weeks. Schumacher has raced for the team for the last three seasons. 

"We will make a decision this summer. We have not talked in depth about the situation, but we know it is coming and we have to make a decision soon. I think it can be driven from many different ways. But this year Michael has driven the best of the three years he has been with us this time, and it has been frustrating when we should have seen better results on track but there have been problems on the car or the way we have dealt with the races. I think in the next six weeks or so we will have to think about what we want to do next year," said team principal Ross Brawn. 

Rumors are that Mercedes is courting Paul di Resta for Schumacher's spot. 

Schumacher has been solidly in the middle of the pack while at Mercedes. He finished 9th in the drivers' points in 2010 and 8th in 2011. He was struggled this season with five retirements in eight races. However, before retiring he has been quite fast and would have been on pole in Monaco if not for a penalty. 

Mercedes is sitting in 5th place in the constructors’ championship. It was in 4th place in the championship in 2010 and 2011. The resurgent performance of LotusLotusUnited Kingdom, 1952 > present68 models
