compact models are going incredibly well and even better than expected. Sales of the compacts are up 68.3% through the first three quarters of the year. The roll out of the compacts is not finished yet, and Mercedes believes that sales will increase even more. The Kecskemét, Hungary, and Rastatt, Germany, factories where they are built are running 24-hours a day to keep up with demand.

“The Kecskemét plant is making a decisive contribution to our growth with new customers and in new markets along the Mercedes-Benz 2020 growth strategy. Every single vehicle from this plant proves what we mean when we talk about Mercedes-Benz quality," said Andreas Renschler, head of manufacturing at Mercedes.

The Kecskemét factory opened in March 2012 specifically with the compact models in mind. In January 2013, it added the CLA to the models that it builds.

For the A-Class, 50% of buyers in Europe are coming from other brands and the average age of buyers is 10 years lower than the previous generation.

The current compact models include the A-Class, B-Class and CLA-Class, plus the upcoming GLA-ClassGLA-ClassMercedes-Benz GLA-ClassGermany, 2013 > present29 versions
