Mercedes already revealed that it will sell the ML63 AMG in the US next year, but now we are getting more information about the car thanks to its European debut.
The ML63 AMG is powered by the biturbo 5.5 liter AMG V8 that produces 525hp, or 557hp with the AMG Performance Package, and 700Nm of torque, or 760Nm with the AMG Performance Package. It uses 11.8l/100km of fuel and produces 276g/km of CO2, which is 28% cleaner than the previous AMG ML-Class. The power boost in the AMG Performance Package comes from a boost increase from 1.0 bar to 1.3 bar. It accelerates to 100km/h in 4.8 seconds, or 4.7 seconds with the extra power. The top speed is limited to 250km/h regardless of options.
The AMG Performance Package also adds a carbon engine cover, red brake calipers and a nappa leather steering wheel.
The ML 63 AMG comes with the Speedshift Plus 7G-tronic automatic transmission that has stop/start tech. It can be shifted into Eco, Sport and Manual modes.
The new ML63 AMG is 40kg lighter than the previous model. It also comes with all-wheel drive with a 40:60 front/rear split and air suspension with adaptive dampening. It comes with standard 20in wheels with 21in wheels as an option.
The ML63 AMG will cost €108,885 (VAT included) in Germany when it launches in April 2012. The AMG Performance Package costs €7,021 extra.
