Mini Showing Clubvan Concept, Three-Door Delivery Van Concept in Geneva

Mini is bringing a five-door van concept that it calls the Clubvan to the Geneva Motor Show on March 6. It combines the body of the Mini Clubman but blocks out the rear windows and ditches the rear seats. It also heavily tinted the rear windows for security.

Inside not only has MINI removed the rear seats, it has also installed six loops in the rear to secure loads. It also added a mesh partition to separate the load area from the passenger area and an aluminum floor. It also added a 12-volt plug-in in the rear for power supply.

The Clubvan Concept has a British Racing Green body that covers everything but the roof, which is black.

The Clubvan Concept seems like a good idea in the small car-based van segment, but it will remain a concept for now. It does not seem like BMW is ready to enter the commercial vehicle market. The Clubvan is  not nearly as big as a Ford Transit Connect or similar vehicle, but it would work for a business making small deliveries. It seems like the aluminum floor would be great for durability, but things would slide around on it. Maybe it would be better with a rubberized floor.
