Honda is slowly rolling out news about the new Civic before it gets revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show. It has already revealed the that the car will get a new diesel engine.
Honda says that other than the new diesel engine, it also focused on improving the interior of the the Civic for 2012. The car's coefficient of drag has been improved to reduced wind noise while driving because Honda acknowledges in-car noise levels have been a problem in the past for the Civic. They also worked to change the car's noise insulation to make it function better.
"We did not improve the noise and refinement of the new Civic through just one technique," says Kazuo Sunaoshi, Development Leader - Chassis. "It was the accumulation of lots of little details. My big challenge was to match the noise and vibration levels of our European competitors.”
