The head of Kia's California design studio, Tom Kearns, is also expressing interest in the project. He says that they have even made a model of the car at the studio.
"I think we should do a coupé over a convertible. A cabrio would be fun, but an affordable coupé in the US would prove more popular," said Kearns.
Kearns and Schreyer do seem to differ on one point. Schreyer wants to position the coupe as a luxury model, but Kearns sees it more as an affordable sports coupe.

that's youthful, fun, affordable and rear-wheel drive would be great," he said.
The problem is that Kia is still trying to increase volume and developing a rear-wheel drive coupe is expensive and low volume. Kia has also been considering building a smaller crossover than the SoulKia Soul Gen.2Republic of Korea, 2013 > present10 versions
