New Civic Remains Five-Door Hatchback, Coming to Europe in 2012

The redesigned 2012 European Civic will continue to be a five-door hatchback, but the styling will be toned down compared to the relatively avant-garde previous version. The new Civic is also 2cm lower and 1cm wider than the current generation.

The car will be available with three engines at launch: a 1.4 liter petrol engine with 100PS, a 1.8 liter petrol engine with 142PS and a 2.2 liter diesel with 150PS. Both engines have improved emissions scores compared to the previous generation with the petrol 1.8 liter 10% better and the diesel 20% better.

Honda is remaining tight lipped on what features will be on the new Civic. It did not say what options will be available on the car or how much it will cost at launch. Expect that information soon.
