revealed two years ago in Sao Paulo Motor Show, the Japanese brand returns to the same event this time with the KicksKicksNissan KicksJapan, 2014 > 2014.

According to Francois Dossa, president of Nissan Brazil the new concept is an evolution of the EXTREM passing from a fantasy car to something that is closer to a production model. The SUV Kicks replaces the over-the-top cues from the EXTREM by elements of robustness and safety appropriate to the Brazilian reality.

The new Nissan Kicks was designed in collaboration between Nissan Design America and Nissan Design America Rio, under the leadership of Global Design Center in Japan. Despite some elements inspired in the EXTREM, Shiro Nakamura, Senior Vice President and Creative Director Officer of Nissan states that with the Kicks the Japanese brand wanted to explore new perspectives for a future urban SUV for the Brazilian market.

Nissan tried with Kicks an intermediate point between a traditional compact SUV and a performance car. The floating roof is clearly one of the most striking design elements and there seem to be some resemblances with the Range Rover EvoqueRange Rover EvoqueLand Rover Range Rover EvoqueUnited Kingdom, 2011 > present128 versions

thinking of emerging markets where there is a growing demand for vehicles with a high suspension and bodywork protection to face poor quality roads. However the difference would be in price and quality and not the dimensions, since the Kicks is longer, taller and wider than the Juke.

In addition, the Nissan Kicks retains the design DNA of the latest models of the Japanese brand with the V grille in front with the boomerang-shaped headlights and side muscle lines.

Nissan has not disclosed any information on powertrains that could be used with the Kicks.
