ever.

To set off their design, the RS cars have a new honeycomb front grill with an RS badge, RS bumper with integrated fog lights and standard bi-xenon headlights with LED running lights. They ride standard on 17in wheels, but there are also 18in and 19in options. At the rear, there is a black diffuser with trapezoidal, chrome exhausts, LED running lights and rear spoiler.

Inside, the RS models get LED ambient lighting, sport seats, a three-spoke steering wheel, and there are RS logos around the interior. There is optional adaptive cruise control, parking assist, road sign detection, keyless entry and start, and Intelligent Light Assist.

The Octavia is powered by either a 2.0-liter TSI engine with 217hp or a 2.0-liter TDI with 181hp. Both come with either a six-speed manual or six-speed DSG. The TSI will accelerate to 100km/h in 6.8 seconds with the six-speed manual and has top speed of 248km/h. The TDI will accelerate to 100km/h in 8.1 seconds with a top speed of 232km/h with the six-speed manual.

The engines are also an average of 19% more fuel efficient than the engines from the previous generation thanks to more efficient engines, start/stop and brake regeneration.

“Never before has an Octavia RS been so fast and dynamic and yet so spacious, convenient, safe and comfortable as the third generation of our compact sports car. In this perfect combination, the new Octavia RS and Octavia Combi RS set new standards in the sporty compact class and also takes the brand’s sporty genes with it on the road,” said Skoda CEO Dr. Winfried Vahland.

The RS models come with a sports suspension as standard with a 12mm lower body, new multi-link rear suspension and electronic differential lock.

The two Octavia RS models will go on sale in July in the UK and roll out in Europe by the end of the summer.
