Opel will debut its own version of the Buick Encore at the Geneva Auto Show on March 6, 2012. Called the Mokka, the little SUV will have three available engines and either front- or all-wheel drive.
The Mokka is 4.28m long, and Opel says that the name is meant to evoke the car's coffee bean-like shape. It sits five occupants, and there is a maximum of 1,372l of cargo space.
The Mokka will come with either a 1.6 liter, four-cylinder engine with 115hp, the 1.4 turbo, four-cylinder that will be used in the Buick Encore with 140hp, or a 1.7 liter four-cylinder turbo diesel with 130hp and 300Nm of torque. It will come with either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. It also comes with traction control, stability control, hill start assist and hill descent assist.
Opel worked to make the Mokka a comfortable place to be. The seats have been certified by the AGR, which certifies that the seats have the highest level of ergonomics.
The Mokka will be available in European dealers at the end of 2012.
