Peugeot has announced its driver lineup for the 2011 Rallye Monte Carlo. For the third year in succession, the Monegasque rally will mark the kick-off of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge (IRC) season. The French brand will be expecting that one of its 207 Super 2000s will fight for the win in the 2011 event.
On the 110th anniversary of the Rallye of Monte Carlo, Peugeot has already confirmed the entries of almost 10 Peugeot 207 Super 2000s. Names that will drive the French rally car include Bryan Bouffier, who recently secured the French title in a 207 Super 2000, Stéphane Sarrazin, and Norway’s Petter Solberg, for this one and only rally. These three drivers will be wearing the colors of Peugeot French dealers’ network. Thierry Neuville, representing Peugeot Belgium, Bruno Magalhães, for Peugeot Portugal and Guy Wilks, for Peugeot UK, are other names that will be driving the roads of Monte Carlo onboard the 207 Super 2000 in January.
For the 2011 edition of the Rallye of Monte Carlo, Peugeot will be targeting a return to the top step of the podium on January’s event, trying to repeat the one-two-three success on the 2009 season.
Two weeks before the close of applications (ended on the 6th of December), the Automobile Cub de Monaco had already received more than 250 registrations for the 79th Monte Carlo Automobile Rally 2011.
