That means it needs to create more models to appeal to the Chinese market, and its latest idea is to create a large SUV using the platform from the Citroën Wild RubisDS DS Wild RubisFrance, 2013 > 2013 concept and using a diesel hybrid engine and luxury interior. A concept for the truck will be shown at the Beijing Motor Show in April 2014.
“We clearly need to be in that market. The only question is whether it’s a 4x4. In Europe, 80 per cent of SUVs are 4x2s – we have the functionality of 4x4s with our HYbrid4 technology,” said Peugeot director Maxime Picat.
