. While it appears to be a sedan, it is actually a notchback with a fully opening rear cargo area. The new car has a 80mm longer wheelbase, 550l of cargo space with the rear seats up and VW AG's newest engines. The new car weighs 1140kg.

The new Toledo will be available with 75hp, 85hp and 122hp petrol engines and a 105hp diesel. The 75hp engine is a new 1.2-liter three-cylinder that uses 5.0l/100km of fuel and emits 116g/km of CO2. The diesel and 122hp petrol engine are available with seven-speed DSG. There will also be an Ecomotive version of the petrol engines that drop emissions to 116g/km of CO2. The E-Ecomotive diesel uses 3.9l/100km of fuel and produces104g/km of CO2. Next year, Seat will also build a 90hp diesel version of the Toledo.

The design of the new car mixes elements from the IBE, IBX and IBL concepts. The car is quite angular with a distinct line running just below the beltline. The C-pillar is thick, and the roof curves from the windshield to the rear window.

The Toledo will be available in three trim levels: Base, Reference and Style.
