Sebastian Vettel Still Confident in Becoming 2012 World Champion

In the first two races of the year Vettel placed 2nd and 11th

Sebastian Vettel is still confident about winning the Formula 1 World Championship despite having a relatively difficult start to his season. Vettel has managed a 2nd and 11th place so far compared to two first place finishes at the same races last season.

"I admit, the first two races weren't exactly perfect but they weren't that bad either. We proved we can able to compete with the strongest teams and that's very important. When you get a mishap like the one I had in Malaysia, however, well then even we are helpless - but that's just how F1 works," said Vettel.

To be fair to all of the teams, this season has barely begun. There is still the possibility that the Bahrain GP could be canceled, but even then there would be 17 races left. All of the major teams still have a fair chance at winning the championship.

What is more, a less dominant Vettel is better for the fans. Lewis Hamilton has finished third in both races this season, but other than him the drivers have been jumbled in the top positions. Vettel will likely find his footing and manage several wins this season; he just may not be as dominant as he was last year.
