Sebastien Loeb Wins 80th Running of Rally Monte Carlo

Sebastien Loeb has won his sixth Rally Monte Carlo at the race's 80th running that ended on January 22. Mini's Dani Sordo and Ford's Petter Solberg were second and third respectively.

Loeb dominated the rally by winning 9 of 18 stages. Solberg won four stages, and Mikko Hirvonen won three.

Solberg's third place finish is quite impressive as this is the first time since 2000 he has competed in a Ford.

Loeb now has a 10 point lead over Sordo in the drivers' points standings. Loeb won the three bonus points awarded to the fastest driver on the Power Stage. Mikko Hirvonen and Evgeny Novikov were awarded two bonus points and one bonus point respectively for being the two other fastest drivers on the Power Stage. Loeb, Sordo and Solberg are still the top three drivers in the Drivers' Championship.

The Citroen World Rally Team leads the Manufacturers' Championship with 37 points, the Mini WRC Team is in second with 26 points and the M-Sport Ford World Rally Team is in third with 16 points.
