has caught fire while stationary. The car was in Woodside, California, when the owner parked it to go to the grocery car. When she came back to the car, it was on fire. By the time the fire department arrived, the car was already destroyed. No cause for the fire has been released, but the woman was not injured.
Fisker has hired an independent fire investigation company to find the cause of this fire. Fisker has impounded the vehicle for the investigation.
"The area of origin for the fire was determined to be outside the engine compartment. There was no damage to the passenger compartment and there were no injuries.
"Continued investigative efforts will be primarily focused within the specific area of origin, located forward of the driver’s side front tire," said Fisker in a statement on the fire.
A burning Karma was blamed for a house fire in Houston, Texas, in May. Fisker recalled 239 Karmas in December for a hose clamp that could leak coolant onto the battery and cause a short.
Below is a video that a bystander took of the car aflame.
