plans to use the platform globally on compact sedans and crossovers. This would replace the way GM currently uses separate platforms for compact sedans and crossovers. While the Cruze will be the first to get the new platform, it will eventually be used on compact GM vehicles all over the world.

The second generation Cruze will continue to be built in Lordstown, Ohio, for the US, and will likely get more variants. Currently, the US only gets the Cruze as a sedan, despite a wagon being offered in Europe. The second generation could get a hatchback and coupe in the US.

According to GM, the second generation will have better interior quality, better fuel economy and more storage. The Cruze is Chevrolet'sChevroletChevroletUnited States of America, 1911 > present82 models
