is doing quite well for itself this year. The company posted €7.9 billion in revenue, up €300 million over last year. Deliveries were up 7.9% to 717,200 cars. Like parent Volkswagen, operating profit was actually down by 1.4% to €567 million.
“We can see that the company’s growth strategy is bringing tangible results as we delivered more cars in the first nine months and raised our revenues despite partly difficult market conditions,” said Skoda CEO Winfried Vahland.
China is becoming a larger part of the company's sales. Of the 717,200 cars sold, 181,900 have gone to China in the first three quarters, compared to 170,000 at this point last year.
The company has a lower net liquidity at €1.9 billion, compared to €2.1 billion last year. That is due to the company investing to expand production and prepare for new models.
