As part of its “AMG Performance 2015” strategy Mercedes-AMG is presenting its state-of-art concept of a super sports car featuring a zero-emission drive. With a maximum power of 392 kW (525.68 PS) and torque of 880 Nm the SLS AMG E-CELL continues the brand aim to reduce fuel consumption and emission without losing its traditional performance.
With a fluorescent "AMG lumilectric magno" paint, the SLS AMG E-CELL is the latest project of Mercedes-AMG which is to create an emission-free sports car with an innovative drive solution.
"We take social responsibility very seriously and with the SLS AMG E-CELL we are demonstrating a further milestone in our "AMG Performance 2015" strategy. Thanks to the four synchronous electric motors fitted super sports car, the SLS AMG E-CELL provides a combined power of 392 kW and a maximum torque of 880 Nm, with each engine achieving a maximum rpm of 12.000/rpm. Located close to the wheels the power is transmitted by one transmission per axle.
The power delivered by the four engines handle the SLS AMG E-CELL the ability to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 4 seconds, almost the same as the SLS AMG with 6.3-litre V8 engine which goes up to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds.
A liquid-cooled high-voltage lithium-ion battery featuring a modular design with an energy content of 48 kWh and a capacity of 40 Ah is responsible for giving the necessary energy to the SLS AMG E-CELL.
