Supercharged Lotus Evora GTE Is Most Powerful Road Legal Lotus Ever

With 438hp the new Lotus Evora GTE will be the most powerful road-going Lotus ever built. Using the same engine as the standard Evora fitted with a supercharger and weighing 105kg less than a standard Evora, the GTE is going to be a major performer when it is released.

Other than engine specifications, Lotus did not reveal any other performance information about the GTE, but we can extrapolate from the Evora S that 0-100km/h times will be in the low four seconds range, maybe even into the high threes.

To allow for faster shifts, the GTE will only be available with a six speed sequential manual gearbox.

The Evora GTE has originally been intended exclusively for Asian markets to celebrate racing success, but after receiving 114 order from China, which is more than it expected, Lotus decided to put the GTE into series production.

Lotus says that it will post more information on its web site about the GTE's specs as it tests the vehicle.
