The 500,000th Fiat 500 rolls off the production line

The Fiat 500 and the Fiat Auto plant in Tychy, Poland, has reachead an important milestone with the 500.000th unit of the model rolling of the production line. The milestone was achieved last week with the production of a Funk White colored 500 powered by a 69 HP 1.2 engine with Start&Stop.

The Fiat 500 is available for sale in 83 different countries throughout the world and has achieved this number of sales in only 21 months since its launch. Italy (244,755 units), France (58,425), the Great Britain (51,445), Germany (48,319), Holland (13,682), Switzerland (10,765), Spain (10,103), Belgium (9,548), Japan (9,030) and Austria (8,648) have been the top ten markets responsible for this impressive achievement.

Capturing once again the attention of the international motoring press, the Fiat 500 had its reputation as an Italian style icon capable of winning the hearts and minds of the public once again confirmed.

Since its launch the Fiat 500 has already received 40 international awards and the prestigious EuroNCAP 5 star rating, and has a dedicated internet site (fiat500.com) with a community of over 120,000 users from 206 different countries.

One of the main reasons for the 500 popularity is the project’s great ability to generate new versions. Recently the 500C joined the wide range, paying homage to the 1957 soft-top but also bringing a lot of advanced solutions in terms of build, engines and passenger comfort.

The actual range offers two different versions the 500 standard and the 500C (cabrio version), 6 configurations (Pop, Lounge, Sport, Rock, by Diesel and PUR-O2), 2 petrol engine (a 69 HP 1.2 and a 100 HP 1.4) and 2 turbo-diesel engines (a 75 HP 1.3 Multijet and a 95 HP 1.3 Multijet II). Since its launch the 500 model has also had many Special Editions and Show cars, which include the 500 by Diesel and the Barbie® show car. It also received high performances versions by Abarth.
