to supply engines for 2014 and beyond.

Carlos Ghosn made the announcement during the Grand Prix of Monaco that both Red Bull-funded teams would use Renault engines from 2014. Renault would not say how long the terms of the new contract were beyond that the teams would use the engines from 2014 and onwards.

A second part of the deal guarantees that Red Bull will be the development platform for the Renault V6 turbo engines, which gives them an inside track on what Renault plans with the engines' development.

"Renault remains involved in F1 to win and demonstrate the excellence of its products. To achieve our aims we need to have teams functioning at the highest level, which is why we are delighted to sign with Toro Rosso," said Jean-Michel Jalinier, Renault Sport F1 president.

Toro Rosso had previously used Ferrari engines.
